MF DOOM live video stream today/tonight!

Heads up to you MF Doom, fans.  The one and only (besides his various fake impersonators) will be DJing alongside Dr Who Dat? at the Boiler Room (UK?).  If you aren't able to go to the actual event, you can watch a live video stream of his set at this link.  It starts at 8 PM GMT, which translates to 3 PM EST for people around here.  I think.  I would take this opportunity to try and catch him live, because at least if he doesn't show up, at least you didn't pay for it...or did you?

Also, if you don't like MF Doom (or you do and have a good sense of humor) and want to listen to Aziz Ansari poke fun at him and Dr. Dre, here is a link to brighten your day.

Turtleneck and Chain by The Lonely Island (2011)

Genres: Comedy, Hip-hop, Pop
Preview: Youtube

If you don't know who this group is, they are a comedic group that started by doing digital shorts that got picked up by SNL.  You may recognize Andy Sandberg.  This album is a bunch of catchy, funny songs, that guest star people like Nicki Minaj, Akon, Rihanna, Beck, Snoop Dogg, and..Michael Bolton.  I don't really have time to write a review for this, we are about to go out to eat and get drinks for our last night in Chicago.  I have no idea how I will pull this off with little money left, but we will see what happens.

Break (AOTL) by Childish Gambino (2011)

Kind of Like:  Kanye West, Jamie xx, Frank Ocean, Ratatat guitarz
Genres: Hip-hop, Comedy
Preview:  Click the video, ya dingus

If you didn't see my previous post about his EP and/or don't know who Childish Gambino is, he is Donald Glover (30 Rock, Community).  If that doesn't help type this in your browser: http://www.google.com.  Then in the search field type: Donald Glover wiki.  Then click on the wiki page, and but before you read it, go to your medicine cabinet and down a whole bottle of acetiminophen before reading.  It enhances the effect.  Anyways, seeing that Donald Glover is constantly busy touring, filming, and writing, he doesn't have a good schedule for releasing full albums.  So, he just releases them one at a time over his tumblr a lot of the time.  Guess what?  This is the case with this song.  See how I did that?  I think this his best song yet, and the timely references are pretty funny.

Happy Thoughts by Daniel Tosh (2011)

Kind of Like: Mike Birbiglia, Patton Oswalt
Genres: Comedy

Here is Daniel Tosh's comedy special that recently aired on Comedy Central.  This is not an audio file, this is the video, so it couldn't fit on mediafire.  So here is the megaupload link.  I hope you have heard his stuff before or watched his show, really funny stuff.

EP by Childish Gambino (2011)

Kind of Like: Kanye, Talib Kweli
Genres: Hip-Hop, Comedy

Childish Gambino is one of the many aliases for multi-talented Donald Glover, the very funny comedian/actor from Community and a writer for 30 Rock.  It was up until this point that I didn't know he also made music and rapped.  There isn't really much joking about this, he has catchy beats, good rapping and even has a set of pipes on him when he sings.  He also throws in his good sense of humor every now and then.  If you haven't had the pleasure of seeing his stand-up, here is an example:

He is about to embark on a united states tour featuring music and comedy, and if he comes near you I recommend you go, and also check out the site Derrick Comedy.  That's how he got his start in comedy and it features a ton of funny short films

Hilarious by Louis C.K. (2011)

Kind of Like: Patton Oswalt, Brian Posehn, David Cross
Genres: Comedy

Here is a new comedy act from Louis C.K.  If you haven't seen his new show Louie on FX or seen/heard his act before, you should.  I kind of want to get the DVD for this because seeing and hearing a comedian just isn't the same as just hearing them.  But, this is funny regardless.
